Poor Boys!

We have dodged a lot of the sicknesses going around this winter, but the boys got hit hard this last weekend! I took both boys to the doctor on Friday. Mason had croupe (sp?) and larangitis (yep, the poor kid who talks non stop actually lost his voice). Camden had an ear, eye AND nose infection. His eyes were so red and goopy that he woke up from his nap one time and couldn't open one of his eyes, it was glued shut. After one day of medicine Cam was looking SO MUCH better! But, Mason woke up Saturday with his eyes looking just like Camden's did. So back to the doctor we went! Yep, now Mason also had an ear, eye and nose infection! Needless to say, we had a lazy weekend at home taking naps and watching cartoons.

Healthy Foods

My friend Hope did a post on her blog about healthy food she likes and I thought I would follow her lead. It's great to get different ideas from people because eating healthy food can get boring and hard at times. So here are some things that help me get through my day:

I have a smoothie each day. When it gets around 4:00 pm and I start craving, I whip one up. I use frozen mixed fruit (usually strawberries, peaches and blueberries), flax seed, protein drink powder, ice and if it's too thick then I add a little skim milk.
This is a great snack...you can find sugar free, fat free pudding in a few different flavors but of course I eat the chocolate flavor!

I LOVE lemon propel. I'm sad they don't make this flavor in the little on-the-go packets. They do have Lemonade but trust me, it's no Lemon!

Kettle corn 100 Calorie packs

When we're in the mood for pizza we like the "DeLite" pizzas from Papy Murphy's. They make it with a thinner crust and less cheese and it's still really good. We usually get a Hawaiian and the Chicken Artichoke deLite is delicious!
This is what I have for breakfast each morning. Cook it, add cinnamon, a little splenda and a sliced banana and you have a yummy, filling breakfast. Another bonus is that if you buy your oatmeal this way, it's WAY cheaper then the instant packets.

These two are my favorite 100 calorie snack packs...BUT I seldom buy them because Yes, they are great if you eat just one a day...BUT if you consume the whole box in a day...NOT too healthy! (not that I've eaten a whole box in one day or anything :)

I love Egg Beaters! They are pricey but so much better for you than regular eggs.

Wal-Mart has a really good bagel that isn't high in carbs or calories (only 1pt for you WW fans). They are in the refrigerator section, by the cottage cheese and stuff. I don't know the brand but the flavor I get is Cinnamon Spice. They're not huge bagels, but I like them along with a bowl of soup.

I really like turkey bacon! I like it better than "real" bacon.

Ok, there you have it. If anyone else has some ideas they like, please let me know!

The SPIKE is back!

I've been growing Mason's hair out for awhile now but it never looks the way I want it to. So we went back to the spike. I like it both ways, but when it's short I think his pretty (I mean handsome) blue eyes stand out more.
