Boys having fun

For playgroup we went to a childrens bookstore for storytime. It was really cute. The lady read a story then they played games and did a few activities. This is Mason doing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and making a spider web out of string. We then went to Carl's Jr for lunch and the kiddos played for TWO HOURS!

Later that day we took the kids sledding...down our driveway! It made the best hill and they loved it. Camden would get to the bottom and be laughing histarically. He's my little dare devil...he even wanted to go down head first on his tummy. We also made little snow castles that are already melting...to Mason's dismay :(

Gotta LOVE Weekends!

This last weekend was a great few days. Friday night Ben and I went on a date, which we haven't been able to do in awhile. We went to dinner at Biaggio's (excellent Italian) and then saw "Bride Wars". Ben wasn't too excited about the movie but he knew I was looking forward to seeing it. Then Saturday Aleisha (Ben's sis) and I went to the "Successful Mothering Convention" at the Expo Center while Ben watched the four kiddos (thanks babe)! It was a fun day to just be me... not mom, wife, housecleaner, cook...just Tami! We listened to different speakers which was really motivating! Sometimes the monatany (sp?) of being a stay at home mom gets overwhelming. It was nice to fill my cup back up with energy, purpose, inspiration, appreciation and love. We also did some shopping (which is theraputic in and of itself) and went out to lunch. Now, the Cheesecake Factory and I have a special LOVE/HATE relationship. I really LOVE the food, HATE the long wait, LOVE the cheesecake, HATE the aftermath of eating the cheesecake. On a side note, can I just tell you how much I LOVE 9:00 am church! Sunday is a great day...again (our kids really had a tough time with 1:00 church and sacrament being last). Now we have happy children and time on Sunday for Family Home Evening before Ben heads back to Vernal. Yeah for a fun weekend!

Walking With Dinosaurs

Ben took Mason to the Walking With Dinosaurs show on Saturday. Ben said Mason was glued the whole time and absolutely loved it. Mas said he had two favorite parts...the flying dinosaurs and when the raptors ate the baby dinosaurs (lovely!). He didn't like the T-Rex though, it was too loud! He was naming all the dinosaurs and describing them to me, he even corrected me one time on how to pronounce one of the names. Sounds like the show was a hit!

Totally off the subject of everything I've been posting tonight but...we were at Costco yesterday and guess who we saw...MATT HARPRING! He pulls up in his white Toyota Sequoia, gets his little boy out of the car and strolls into Costco like nothing out of the ordinary. This might be like "duh" to some people, but I thought it was cool to see him out and about like that. K, and Ben swears when we passed him in his car he was picking his nose...

Merry Christmas!

We were able to spend over a week in Vernal, it was great having so much time with Ben! It was a great Christmas. Ben and I started a new tradition with our little family this year. We wanted so much to stress the importance and spirituality of Christmas to the boys. On Christmas Eve we had a lesson on the true meaning of Christmas. Instead of giving physical gifts on the day Jesus was born, we will be giving Jesus other types of gifts. We each thought of something that would help us to be better, that we would work on throughout the year of 2009. Something that will bring us closer to our Savior. This will be our gift to Jesus. We wrote this down secretly and put the paper in a small package and wrapped it. Next year, these gifts to Jesus will go under our tree. On Christmas morning these will be the first presents we open so we can remember why Christmas is so special and reflect on our Gift to Jesus that year.

It was so much fun to watch the boys' faces light up Christmas morning. Ben's family has a tradition that Christmas morning they get up and make a HUGE breakfast before anyone can even go into the living room with all the gifts. Mason was so excited but he waited patiently for present opening time.

The Saturday after Christmas all of Ben's siblings made it out for the family party. Ben's brothers and sisters sang the songs to The Forgotten Carols, we ate delicious food, the kids opened yet another present then the adults did the annual white elephant exchange. We all had a fun, fun time.

Christmas morning at the Wood home...Santa came!

Santa brought the boys a Power Wheel. Camden's face in this picture says it all: They LOVE it! Every time Camden sees it in the garage he says "ride vroom vroom, ride vroom vroom!"

Let it SNOW, Let it SNOW, Let it SNOW

The week of Christmas we spent a couple days at my sisters house in Roosevelt playing and having fun. My other sister who lives in Colorado was there too, so it was fun to see them. While we were there they got hit by a lot of snow. The kids were very anxious to get out and play.



While in Vernal we took the kids to the golf course to do some sledding. Mason had a lot of fun and keeps asking when we get to do it again. We went with two of Mason's cousins (Grant and Elyssa) and one time we put all three of them on the sled and sent them a flyin'. They all laughed the whole way down.

Jesus Wants Me For A SUNBEAM!

Mason is now a Sunbeam! Crazy! He was a little hesitant to go to his new class today. He was quite attached to his nursery teacher plus he didn't want to give up playing with toys and didn't think it was fair that Camden got to stay in Nursery and he didn't. He went to class okay but when they went into sharing time with all the other kids, he had a mini breakdown. Ben went in and sat with him and said Mason even got up and participated by holding an object in front of everyone. Hopefully he'll do better next week now that he knows what to expect.
